Root and History
Looking at the irregular walls of the house alongside Via Veglia and its small windows, you can easily
identify the farmhouse our Hotel Eden was in the past. In the 19th century the farmhouse was extended
by cubic hotel construction with glass-roofed courtyard and two extensions for hall and dining room.
This was the beginning of the guesthouse "Peter" which in 1900 was renamed "Hotel Petersbutg"
by its owner at time G. Peter. Already in 1910 it was given its present-day name “Hotel Eden".
With this long and turbulenz history it is one of the first guesthouses of St.Moritz.
In 1959 it passed into the ownership of the Degiacomi family.
Todays renaissance style tea-room served as a breakfast room until 1997, the dining room was located
in the eastern annex of the building. After the guesthouse had become a bed and breakfast hotel, the annex
was used as a kndergarten and later on as municipal library. Due to a lack of space the library moved to the
new village school and the hall became our new breakfast room.
Today our guests can use the upper parlour in the western wing of the hotel as a library or as a beautiful
place to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and home made sweets.
Since 1986 our Hotel Eden is personally directed by Pia Jehle-Degiacomi,
with a lot of impetus and attention to detail.
